Aphrodisias was a city renowned by its art during Roman Empire and well deserves its name derived from Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty.
Built near a marble quarry, Aphrodisias was one of the most popular cities of sculpture and architectural arts. Most of the beautiful sculptures made between 1 BC and 5 AD are still kept in Aphrodisias Museum and these are a must see for anyone interested in art and history.
The ancient city of Afrodisias also has the beautiful Tetrapylon, ruins of the Temple of Aphrodite and one of the biggest ancient stadiums. Aphrodisias is a big ancient city with lots of historic artifacts, so take your time to see everything inside this magnificent city.
Aphrodisias Tour Program
- You will be picked up from your hotel at about 09:30 and we will head to Aphrodisias.
- Once we get there, the locations we will visit are Sebasteion, Theater, Agora, Tiberius Portico, Hadrian Baths, Bishop Palace, Aphrodite Temple, Odeon, Stadium, Tetraphylon.
- We will have lunch in a local restaurant before we visit Aphrodisias Museum which is the highlight of the tour.
- After the tour, at about 15:30, we will drive you back to your hotel.
